Though I missed its beautiful site on a summer evening, I find this place very picturesque.
One fine day in August. It was scorching hot in Venice. A good excuse to buy gelato every few hours. ;)

The Grand Canal - "one of the major water-traffic corridors in the city". Take a water taxi or gondola to explore Venice
And speaking of gondolas, you'll see them everywhere. Ask this gondolier and he will take you around. They will also sing for you for additional euros, of course.
I'm chasing and trying to feed the pigeons (which is a no-no) here at Piazza San Marco. ;)
